Many patrons rave about their first encounters with Hula Hands. Noah Irby describes it as “amazing” with great value, highlighting the friendly staff that make every visitor feel at home. The welcoming ambiance continues with Jessie Knapp’s delightful surprise, who stumbled upon this culinary treasure while catching a flight. She noted it as one of the best meals during her Alaskan adventure, praising the spot for some of the finest Hawaiian cuisine she has enjoyed in years.
What truly sets Hula Hands apart are the dishes that grace their menu. The fried rice is a crowd favorite; Alakan Bee attested to this, emphasizing the rich flavors, especially when extra protein is added. The tender teriyaki beef and juicy chicken, noted by Miranda Cullum, are prepared with care, complemented beautifully by the hearty spam musubi. Hula Hands serves generous portions that won’t break the bank, with prices even lower than a typical fast-food meal. Miranda's revelation underscores a common sentiment: even if the exterior might look “sketch,” the food inside is nothing short of extraordinary.
The char on the chicken has been described as delicious, while the poke is nothing less than “to die for,” as expressed by Candace Mosteller. Each dish tells a story, echoing the heart of Hawaiian culture in every bite. Whether you dine in or opt for takeout, Hula Hands Restaurant creates a truly immersive experience. So, if you find yourself in Anchorage, dive into the mouthwatering offerings at Hula Hands and discover why this place has captured the hearts—and stomachs—of so many.

My first time here today - food was amazing and really great value! Staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. Definitely will be back!
Was looking for a hole in the wall before we left for our flight and found this gem. It actually ended up being one of the best meals we had while in Alaska. And the best Hawaiian food I’ve had in many years. The waitress was very friendly, the place was clean and the service was super quick. Wish it was closer so I could go more often!
The friend rice was quite the experience! I got mine with extra protein, chicken and their sausage. It was sooo delicious. I doubt it was gluten free, but I would say that it was worth it! Server was amazing and on point! Remember, even if it is busy, just be patient and kind and you will enjoy your meal!
The teriyaki beef was so tender and the chicken was juicy! The spam musabi was HUGE! The music was at a good level. The meal was cheaper than a McDonalds meal and was so much food!! This place looks sketch outside, but I'm so glad I stopped here!!!
Hands down 5 for 5 for a good place to eat. Good portion sizes for the price. The char on that chicken is delicious and the pokie is to die for! Must stop place. Dine in or take out.
This place is delicious!! I lived Hawaii and the food here is legit!! The portions are large and the service is lightning fast. If it’s your fist time, you can get a complimentary sample plate. I highly recommend Hula Hands and I’m going to become a regular here.
I was visiting Anchorage on a business trip and some fancier restaurant I wanted to go to was full up. Instead I found Hula Hands as I love Hawaiian barbecue. I think I was the only non Polynesian there but I felt welcomed as part of the brotherhood of hungry guys. The food was great and the price was right. Turns out I lucked out that evening.
My Son always spoke highly of Hula Hands as being one of the best places to eat in Alaska while assigned to the 25th Airborne JBER (Ft. Richardson side). Its where he and his soldier buddies would frequent on paydays. He was right about the large portions and delicious authentic Hawaiin dishes. Bool Galbi (korean BBQ shortribs aka Kalbi) tasted fire grilled, and large poke is not only delicious but also huge more than enough for the three of us. By the way, my wife never eats sashimi yet alone poke but on this day she got caught the bug and was partkaking in the poke. The Galbi too was delicious and although I would have carmelized the shortribs a bit more, it was delicious nontheless. It even serves Laulau lol. Meals are served with sidedishes typical of plate lunches you'd get on Oahu or Big Island in Hawaii. In terns of environment, Hula Hands has the feel of a restaurant off the beaten path, where it is msinly frequented by locals, a so called "Hole in the wall" where one must try while visiting because the food is like a delicous home cooked meal cooked by granny, and served in large portions. In fact, during our meal, we were reminded of long gone Bernie's Teriyaki Chicken in Los Angeles, and Chun Oaks in Newport News, Va ( the latter is where i and my soldier buddies would go back in the 80's) Had i been stationed in Alaska, I too would have frequented Hula with my soldier buddies. I hope Hula remains in busines for a long time our next visit to Alaska. If you like authentic Hawain dishes and are in Alaska, definitely visit Hula Hands-Friendly.
